Most of use cannot eliminate printed materials - sales folks still like the comfort of a "leave behind" after a physical meeting - and that's OK. But, as we all have reduced our use of printed materials, the pieces we do print commercially (and expensive) have VERY long shelf life.

Dating material HIGHLIGHTS "this is a year old" which indicates "we have not updated the product in a while."

 

Also... people are pretty smart. They won't need a secret decoder ring to figure out "111008 ."

Break out of the rectangle now and again.

A VERY single-minded message "we ship fish." Die cutting this brought this fish to life.  A little oversized made it stand out too.

Placesettings for an industry luncheon of 1,500. I had them print 4 over 4 on very thick stock with slits to lock the roll together.  Smiling faces on the outside, logos and testimonials on the inside.  

Use the edges of the press sheet for free printing. ( you are paying for it anyway )

Ask your commercial printer about the press sheet configuration of your next print job. Find out what is left over and USE IT. Make business note cards, direct mail post cards or creative philanthropic ideas. You are already paying for it.

 

I filled an odd strip of side paper withi a "growth chart" for a professional child's entertainer. He got 18,000 free. And a lot of happy kids.
