The little greenwashing bit in email signatures is very tired (so...like...last decade) and has become invisable noise. Except for lawyers, who prints emails UNLESS it is essential for a paper record?
Every email your company sends is "marketing media." Use it as such.
I really don't know how this fad even started. I always deemed it as pure greenwashing.
No one is going to look at the online version (web page) of your email.
People buy from people so PLEASE don't draw emphasis to the fact you use an automated email / marketing system. Plus, the text is at the top of the email. It’s the first thing people see.
I take effort to disquise my spam. Ooops. I mean valuable content.
Apologies for the "shooting fish in a barrel" tone today but - three days, same vendor, same clumsiness. This time with a text only note.
I would have had a salutation too -"Dear" or "Hello." And my first name :)
Three days in a row is desperate marketing. Prospects pick up on that.
Oh for poop's sake. Same firm, same database, same error.
Different topic, different sender.
At least they didn't say "Yo Smitty."
Without a clean list, your marketing automation prospecting will be counter-productive. Clean lists are everyone's responsibility - marketing, sales and client services. No excuses. And please, call me "Bradley."
Ironic the firm is selling outreach communications.
Client support people communicate to your current clients hundreds of times a day. Use that space for upsell, upcoming events, cross-product promotion, etc. Have the image feed in dynamically and you can easily chang it out without bothering the client-facing folks.
Note: keep the message light and informative. Soft-sell. The receipients KNOW you already. Keeping the message fresh makes the cleint-facing folks feel like they are delivering content, not just an ad.
Yes… this takes extra effort as you need an extremely accurate list with first names. But I have always found it worth the pain... and the sales people like the email continuity with their follow-up. It is especially nice when prospects reply in the first person!
Two details: create a faux email address (that is still your real name) for the replies – otherwise, your “regular” email will be bombarded with “out-of-the-office” alerts. Also, put a few breaks between your signature and the spam compliant text. Hiding this text aids the illusion. (aww c’mon. this IS marketing)
